Mining

In a swampy area near Songea in the south of Tanzania, gem miners are digging a swampy area to reach the gem rich layer... The gem rich ground is then collected to be washed in a nearby pond.



Each mining group is digging the ground to reach the gem rich gravel layer.

Washing

Gem miners are collecting some gem rich ground and bring it to a pond in order to wash the ground and collect the sapphires.
